Isolated Fracture of the Greater multangular

Abstract
Isolated fractures of the greater multangular are rare and usually associated with other injuries about the wrist.
Since the first carpometacarpal joint is important in the function of the thumb, injury to the greater multangular, if not accurately diagnosed and treated, may lead to permanent impairment of function because of pain, limitation of motion, or weakness.
The authors have experienced three cases of isolated fractures of the greater multangular; the displaced one treated operatively with satisfactory result and the other two conservatively.
